The first time we stepped through the front gate of the Bamboo Jungle House, we knew we were home. The gardens, the sounds of the waterfalls, the breezes rustling through the palms and this wonderful old plantation style home were all perfect. We saw the possibility of creating a healing retreat, a place where our guests could disconnect from the everyday hustle and bustle of their lives and experience all the magic and beauty of Kauai.

We are Lucy and Terry Ryan, the owners and innkeepers here at the Bamboo Jungle House. We view every minute living here as a gift and can think of nothing more rewarding than to share this special place and the Garden Island with you.

We moved here from Cape Cod, Massachusetts in 2004 and have loved every minute of this adventure. Terry has a long history of working in the hospitality field including running a full service Inn in Weston, Vermont. Lucy has been a psychologist, nurse and life coach. We are both committed to making a difference in people’s lives.

Our goal is to create a peaceful home away from home with everything you need for a perfect vacation. The Bamboo Jungle House gives us the opportunity to create an environment where you - our guests – get to be pampered and experience aloha spirit first hand. This is the perfect setting for you to rest, rejuvenate and explore…where you can connect with nature, your loved one and with yourself.

We have offered Hawaiian style massages in the gazebo next to the waterfalls since we opened.  Many of our guests find this to be an amazing and healing experience. Our newest project is our Ola hou Body Mind & Soul Healing Retreat which includes massage as well as energy healing. Our love of hiking in the mountains, canyon and shoreline enables us to help you explore all the natural wonders this island offers. We are delighted to help you plan your daily…and nightly…activities while here on Kauai. And we are here to offer support, guidance and a listening ear whenever it is needed.

While we love children and have children and grand-children of our own, the Bamboo Jungle House is not designed for children. All our sleeping rooms have one queen bed. This makes us the perfect place for couples on their honeymoon or anyone looking for a romantic getaway.

We are committed to creating The Bamboo Jungle House as an environmentally friendly ‘Green’ Inn. We use non-chemical cleaning and laundry products. We have installed a new Solar hot water system which gives everyone plenty of hot water. We recycle as much as we can. And we are smoke-free in the house and on our grounds.

All this is part of our commitment to you having a perfect vacation in paradise and an experience you will fondly remember for a lifetime.

You guys have been even better than mom and dad.  We loved our stay.  We want to be just like you guys when we grow up.
